In a nutshell, a website is created to provide information about a company, person, product, etc. There are ecommerce sites that provide a method for business owners to sell their products to other people online.
A blog is similar to a website in that it’s a way to provide information about a company, person, product, etc. The difference is a blog is designed to provide an avenue to update your visitors or potential visitors with information on a regular basis. Most blog platforms are also equipped with RSS capabilities. This allows your users/visitors to tap into what you are saying the instant you say it through a feed reader.
Ask yourself what your end goal is with your web presence. Are you needing an online brochure for a company or product? Are you wanting an avenue that will allow you to share your voice on a regular basis?
Once you have determined what it is you want to do you will need to begin planning the content of the site/blog as well as the structure.
In upcoming posts I will show you different techniques for building your websites and offer some great resources that can help you in this process.
